" My Cuti Cuti Malaysia day trip from Klang to Ulu Yam, Kuala Kubu Bharu & returning home via Rawang Bypass & Guthrie Corridor Expressway,  Selangor (11 Dec 2017) with my travel buddies from Klang, Selangor "

2017 is slipping fast and in a few weeks time, we will be welcoming 2018, the year of the dog ! So if you enjoy travelling, keep "barking" for more !

For my travel buddies from Klang, every Monday is an off day so once again, our group took the opportunity (after a Bat Kut Teh breakfast in Klang) to visit a few suburban towns in the state of Selangor, peninsula Malaysia starting from Klang to a new highway in Carey island and then headed our way to Pulau Indah. From there, we took the main trunk roads to Klang and then to Sungei Buloh, Rawang, Serendah, Ulu Yam & Kuala Kubu Bharu. Hui who is currently staying in Bukit Tinggi joined our group for a "lor mee" lunch in Ulu Yam !

For our return journey, we used the newly opened scenic Rawang Bypass and Guthrie Corridor Expressway to Klang and ended our day with great joy and a happy mood ! Another Cuti Cuti ( Vacation) short trip accomplished this year ! Our group will be "barking" for more domestic travels in our home country in the coming 2018 so long as we keep our travelling spirits high !

A big thank you to Chim who in numerous occasions used his vehicle to ferry our group members to various touristy places for our day trips to nearby towns & states of peninsula Malaysia.

D-24 durians on sale at a local fruit stall in Ulu Yam

2) Lunch with my travel buddies at Swee Yen restaurant in Ulu Yam, Selangor, Rm125 for a yummy lunch comprising of 5 dishes ie stir fried vegetables, clay pot meat, fish paste & fried noodles & "lor mee with thick soya gravy"

3) Kuan Yin Kok, Kuala Kubu Bharu - one of the oldest Kuan Yin temple in Malaysia - reported to be first established in 1923 & relocated to this place in 1948; an old bell in the temple engraved with words dated to 1887 ! a worthwhile visit for day trippers when in Kuala Kubu Bharu.

4) Kuala Kubu Bharu town - a district capital of Hulu Selangor, the town is 80 years old, if you are visiting Fraser Hills, you will pass by Kuala Kubu Bharu town.

5) Rawang Bypass, Selangor - opened to traffic in Nov 2017 after a 12 year of construction ! The 9km highway reduce traffic considerably from Templer Park to Serendah; it features a 2.7km elevated viaduct with its highest pillar of 58.2m, the highest in Malaysia !

May our friendship continues to blossom & bloom in the years ahead ! Happy travelling !
